A Weekend of Derrida

I’ve got a weekend of Derrida ahead of me. The essay is pretty straight forward (‘What is deconstructive reading, and what difficulties are associated with it?). Basically I can see what Derrida is trying to get at - after much tutorial discussion, which was extremely helpful since I hadn’t a fucking clue a month ago - but he’s such an asshole that I just can’t agree with him. Now, to expand this notion into 1700 words….

Meanwhile, it’s Friday night, now Saturday morning, and I have to keep myself occupied for a while till Thumb Bandits starts on Channel 4, then it’s Kentucky Fried Movie and two hours of WWF wrestling. Excellent. If I’m really lucky, I’ll fall asleep just as Raw finishes and wake up at 11am when SmackDown! starts.
