I’m taking a break from Derrida for a while.

Update on last night: watched most of Kentucky Fried Movie last night. It was okay, it started off pretty well, but then dragged with the whole ‘A Fistful of Yen’ thing (well, they got the currency - or the country - wrong so I wasn’t expecting much). It would have been much funnier if they just made the whole thing a series of news bulletins, game shows and commercial slots. Maybe someone else will do it better, not that it really needs to be done again.

Onto wrestling: don’t remember much, except for Goldust beating up Rob Van Dam (now that’s a ‘feud’ that’s going nowhere fast), and a couple of videos of the nWo. Next week, they’ll be here! Oh yeah, and there was something else about Stephanie being pregnant but that’s a bit of a pointless storyline considering everything else that’s going on.

Tonight: More Derrida, then Enemy of the State is on BBC 1. I’ve never seen it, so I might as well take a break and watch it. (Update: it was entertaining in a blockbustery sort of way, but I was also struck by the fact that due to its subject matter, it will likely never be shown on American TV for quite some time.)

On another note, I suddenly got some inspiration for a short story. I made a deal with good a friend that I’ll have a completed short story collection by the end of the year. I’m on my way there. This is something I should have done years ago.
