Macrolog
Baccalaureatus in Artibus
The graduation ceremony wasn’t nearly as excrutiating as I’d expected. I even got used to the robe thing, and felt a bit strange when I had to hand it back afterwards.
It also felt strange meeting some of the people I would see around college - like Karyn, and John the mature student - and realising that I may well never see most of them again. Maybe I will, but I doubt it.
I am glad to report, though, that the university actually spelled my name correctly on the scroll. (With an upper-case ‘D’.) I was also announced and called to the podium by the (technically correct) Irish version of my name, which is less MacDara, more MuckhhghDara. Sure, I personally don’t pronounce it that way - it’s bad enough that people still think that it’s my surname, it’s best not to confuse them more with the pronounciation - but hey, it was a special occasion.
So that’s it. My university career is officially over. I can sign my name with BA (Hons.) at the end. A bit of an anti-climax, really. Especialy since I have to be in work for 8am tomorrow morning.
Ugh.
Only eight days left. Think happy thoughts.
