Déjà Vu All Over Again
I don’t know about most people, but déjà vu is a regular occurance for me.
That’s not to say that I have any significant premonitionary abilities like knowing what the Lotto numbers are going to be; rather, it’s subtle things… a short chain or pattern of actions, an arbitrary conversation, a simple exchange of words with someone and being struck suddenly with the realisation that I have experienced this particular situation one or two weeks before, in a dream or a daydream or some other, similar state of consciousness.
I mentioned this offhand to John at the pub on Thursday night, and it sparked his interest. He had read of this phenomenon somewhere before, and explained that it might have something to do with me being on the right path, that my periodical experiencing of events as having happened before, however trivial, is evidence that I am making the right decisions, following my true destiny, and building up a steady supply of good karma all the while. Or something like that.
I feel like Donnie Darko all of a sudden.

I read a few years ago that déjà vu is a common trait shared by serial killers. Got any bodies under the floor?
