Macrolog

Tabula Rasa

Another Sunday, another afternoon spent ever-so-slightly tweaking the engine that keeps this website running.

I’ve become far too much of a perfectionist, to the detriment of my writing; rather than sit down to sketch out a story idea or plan an article, or even read a book, I’d much prefer to stare for hours on end at page upon page of code, just to see if there is anything I can improve upon.

Today, I decided to upgrade to version 2.6 of Movable Type. Hooray!, I thought to myself, something new to help me avoid doing anything really constructive. But the installation was far too painless, and now here I am, stuck with a blank page on my screen, a notebook full of ideas, and a clean slate in my head.

I think I’m in need of some brain food, lest I decide to tweak my code in perpetuity.
