I’m having a great Paddy’s Day, me. My throat feels swollen and raw, from the back of my nasal passage and down my oesophagus. Meanwhile, as if things aren’t bad enough already, there’s a traffic jam growing in my sinuses. I dunno whether I’ve caught something nasty, brutish (and hopefully short) from the crowds at Simmonscourt on Saturday afternoon, or if it’s just a reaction to my being in a small, unventilated, smoke-filled room at my cousin’s house that night. I suppose I should count myself lucky that I haven’t really been ill at all since well before the end of last year. But I don’t feel lucky. To top it all off it’s a beautiful day here as well. Fuck.
