If Derrida were a Superhero…
A couple of questions…
If Derrida were a superhero, would deconstruction be his super-power?
Would Baudrillard be his partner in crime-fighting? Would he conjure simulacra to confuse and confound their enemies?
…just something to think about.

Nope. If he were a superhero, he’d get all the girls, so wouldn’t do philosophy.
Since when do superheroes ever get the girl? To my knowledge, only Peter Parker has ever scored via his super-powers. In general, the life of a superhero is one of isolation and existential torment.

batman scores lots - catwoman, nicole kidman, kim basinger etc
technically i suppose he isn’t a superhero though, as he lacks any super human powers
That’s true, Batman was (is?) just a vigilante with lots of money to spend on elaborate accoutrements. Plus, he really only scored in the TV series and the movies, which don’t count; I like to think that they exist in a parallel continuum where sex is more important than social issues and the like.

i’m sure he must have scored catwoman in the comics too, isn’t there a new spin off thing with their secret daughter fighting crime?

Not sure if Derrida would agree with Baudrillard on all theories. They’d probably be fighting partners on a strictly business level, to combat, say, the evil powers of Karl Popper!

I didnt think superheroes could be made boring - but congratulations to you all - you’ve succeeded admirably.
