Holy Sith!
Two points, after seeing Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith:
- Doesn’t it strike you as odd that at the beginning of the movie the technology is all plasma screens and shit, but by the end they’ve regressed to knobs and switches and blinking lights? I know they needed to have continuity with the original trilogy, but come on!
- If there can only ever be two Sith lords at any one time, then who the fuck was Darth Maul?? Hello?!?

Maybe they just missed the warmth of good old analog technology? As for Darth Maul, Count Dooku replaced him after he died, at least that was my understanding!
On your second point, that’s impossible because Darth Maul was Count Dooku’s apprentice.
The only explanation I can think of (besides a major fuck-up on George Lucas’ part) is that the Sith lied the whole time about the ‘only two’ thing, as part of Palpatine’s masterplan. But that just makes out the Jedi to be suckers.
Mac, I agree. Revenge of the Sith was a stupid film. However, I can’t believe you have stooped so low as to make a sith/shit pun.
Matt, your point is also stupid, but not as stupid as George Lucas. Count Dooku is ancient, so if he only became the Emperor’s apprentice after Darth Maul died, he must’ve been in the Sith lord remedial learning program or something.
According to the super nerd at this address Dooku did replace Darth Maul. Maul never had an apprentice, he never got the chance!!
Eoin perhaps he had a mid-life crisis or summat. I do agree George Lucas is an idiot though
“…After the death of Darth Maul, Palpatine immediately sought out three potential apprentices; Sifo Dyas, Detori (Darth Rage), a cyborg Toban from Yetis and Dakkus Vitrich’s Jedi student, Count Jard Dooku of Serreno (Darth Tyranus).
Um, hang on a second. In The Phantom Menace, Count Dooku clearly refers to Darth Maul as his apprentice. Which pretty much contradicts your point (besides the fact that you got it from a timeline derived from bloody Star Wars novels, which Lucas has nothing to do with, so they don’t count).
You know what? You’re right. I must have conflated the end of The Phantom Menace with the end of Attack of the Clones. I stand corrected.
However, I second Eoin’s sentiment: who the hell would take on an old geezer like Christopher Lee as an apprentice?
Ah who cares. It’s all a bunch of bollocks anyway, innit?
Dunno really, probably best to ask the supernerds why he took him on!!
It is indeed a load of bollocks, but enjoyable load of bollocks all the same!

He took him on because Dooku had control of all the seperatists, and Palpatine needed a war to get his clone army so he could take over the Republic.
And who wouldn’t want Christopher Lee on their side? He’s the greatest cinematic swordsman ever. EVER!
Also Dooku used to be a Jedi, and it’s well easy to go dark side. Just look what happened to that nice chap Anakin.
‘Once you go down that dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny…’
By replying to “probably best to ask the supernerds why he took him on!!!”, Dave has basically proclaimed to the world “I AM A SUPERNERD.” Also “I AM THE ROBOT OF POP, HEAR ME ROCK.”

I’m a geek, not a nerd? And also, do you realise what you’ve done by repeating those immortal words…”I AM THE ROBOT OF POP! HEAR ME ROCK!”? I won’t be able to stop saying it now…
Oh dear god. The mind boggles at reading this conversation. And I thought I was bad when it came to Eurovision!
