Film review — I Am Burt Reynolds

It’s paced as leisurely as its subject’s demeanour, and in this case that works to its credit. To me, as a child of the ’80s, he’ll always be the Bandit. But this film does an engaging job of sketching Burt Reynolds warts and all: as the man, the craft-minded actor, the intellectual, the bad partner and flawed father. There was no one else quite like him. ★★★½
