Some details about my professional services…
I’ve just started a new role as an editor with Welocalize (more here); around that I have some availability for freelance projects — my services include writing, editing, copywriting, proofreading and project consulting — and I would be delighted to work with you.
Please drop me a line at macdara@macdaraconroy.com or reach out on LinkedIn.
I have more than 10 years’ experience in media, in particular editing for both print and digital. And my background as an editor has made me a better writer, too — whether it’s straight news, features or copywriting, short- or long-form. Whatever you require, I will give you clean copy that fits your brief.
As a writer and editor I have a broad base of experience in news and features: subediting/copy editing on the Belfast Telegraph and Sunday Life; working on multicultural stories as subeditor and page designer at Metro Éireann; and covering all things marine, as a digital content editor/contributor with Afloat.ie, Ireland’s sailing, boating and maritime magazine.
I also write about movies, music and popular culture, with reviews and features for the likes of Bandcamp Daily, the Bridgehead Media Blog, Burning Ambulance and Thumped.
Besides that, I have worked with Bridgehead Media as a copywriter for a major online music retailer, and as proofreader on a content project for a leading digital marketing agency.
If you’d like to work with me, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact details above.
